Better Plants Partner
Mannington Mills, Inc. is a Better Plants Partner.
Over the next decade, the goal is to reduce our energy intensity by 25%. We have partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and are nationally recognized as a Better Plants Partner. The Better Buildings, Better Plants Program (Better Plants Program) is a national partnership initiative to drive a 25% reduction in industrial energy intensity in 10 years while decreasing carbon emissions and enhancing U.S. competitiveness. The initiative is led by the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Better Plants demonstrates the value of energy efficiency, bolstering our ability to implement energy efficient technologies.
Better Plants Partners are instrumental in a national initiative to drive a 25% reduction in industrial energy intensity in 10 years. By taking a pledge , Mannington is committed to establish energy use and energy intensity baselines, and report our achievements, change in energy intensity, and report energy use data annually to DOE. Thus far, Mannington has achieved an 11% energy intensity improvement from its baseline consumption. The improvement shows Mannington on target with reduction commitments. In addition, Mannington has developed a rigorous energy management plan and is taking steps to reducing our overall energy intensity, thereby lowering related carbon emissions.
